Update On My Update!

Well, I feel better after this morning's discussion with the IVF co ordinator. It seems that I am on the Estrogen Priming Protocol, and that the way Dr J is doing this, is to try and get 1 or 2 more eggies than I would have if I just did a normal protocol. So that being said, I am easing into this a bit better.

Today I started my Gonal F injections. 6 amps a day! I must keep on with the Cetrotide up until next week Wednesday (2nd Sept). I start Progynova on Friday. Cant believe I have to shove a tablet up you know where!! I am all for suppositries etc but an actual round tablet?? The images in my head are really disturbing! I also start the Luveris on Friday.

Anyway, Monday (31st August) Is my first scan since starting stimms. It is also my birthday, so I am hoping to walk away with good news!

Cue The Music...

****I bruise easily, la la la la....****!!!!

My poor little tummy is purple, and I have only had 4 teeny tiny injections so far! Can you imagine what it is going to look like after all the stimms?

I have always been known to bruise quite easily, but seriously, this is bad! I dont remember bruising this badly with my Menopur shots. Maybe I need some more iron? (I hope not, as I am shoving so many vitamin type pills down my gullet already, that the thought of taking 1 more makes me tired!!)

Anyway, this is a bit on an arb post, and I feel like I am talking to myself... or could I be talking to the voices in my head again?

And We're Off!!

So I hardly slept last night! I don't know if it was because I was excited,because I am not sure if I am excited or just damn terrified - probably the latter!
Anyway, got to VL and sat down with my IVF co ordinator. She then asked if I injected myself before. I said yes, many times (hell I did 9 iui's with Menopur - I am a pro!!!) So she let me do the shot and that was that! From tomorrow I will do it myself at home. This will happen every day until my next Day 2.

Just a quick question. This may seem pathetic BUT: When do I get my little purple IVF bag? mean, I am spending a fortune. The least they can give me is my little purple meds bag?????

And We're Off! Well, Sort Of...

So yesterday I went for my Day 2 scan. Everything looked fine and so I was given the go ahead to start my BCP's. Got a little excited up unitl the sister told me that I need to start my Lucrin on the 13th August! Um, excuse me???? I thought all meds were only in September?! I left VL terrified! I think it was the fact that I just assumed all meds were going to be next month, and not so soon! All of a sudden, this is beginning to feel very real, and that scares the crap out of me!

Anyway, my diet seems to be ok so far. Yesterday I drank 2.5l of water (insert applause).

Breakfast: Muesli (which prceeded to give me cramps for the rest of the day! Forgot that my colon doesnt cope with seedy stuff!)

Snack: Raw unsalted almonds (Multiply cramps by 100)

Lunch: Beef salad with no salad dressing

Snack: Naartjie

Supper: Chicken stew (taken off the low GI diet website!)

Oh, and 1 cup of coffee, 1 decaf and 2 tea's (insert staduim cheer and applause, as I normally have about 6 cups of decaf and 3 teas per day, at least!)

Today will be:

Breakfast: NO MUESLI!!!!! Provita's with cheese

Snack: Strawberry yoghurt - low fat

Lunch: Poached eggs on wholewheat toast

Snack: Banana

Supper: Rosemary and lemon hake bake
