Preparing My Body

I have been trying to prepare myself physically for my IVF. My dad is still thinking about how he feels regarding all of this, and I havent quite got his blessing yet, however, I am going ahead mentally with this already!

So, this is how I am preparing myself:

I stopped smoking 5 months ago ( A good start, I think!)
Switched to decaf (Have about 5 cups of caffeine per month)
Started taking the following supplements:
2x Staminogro
2x Omega 3 1000mg
2x Probiflora 4 strain (Couldnt find the 9 strain, so figured the 4 strain would be the next best)
1x Folic acid forte

I am also trying not to eat carbohydrates after 4pm, although I am not always getting that right! Apparently carbs at night spike your insulin levels, and high insulin levels results in poor egg quality.

Anything else I should be taking or doing right now?

Socializing On The WWW

I never spent much time on the internet until I decided to venture into the fertility world. Before then I would check my emails, and that was about it. But, since I embarked on this journey, I have become completely addicted!!!

First I was Googling fertility clinics in South Africa, and if they would treat single ladies, and how much AI would cost. etc. Once that stage past, it was googling my diagnosis, such as: High prolactin levels, normal FSH, endometriosis, laparascopy etc.

Then it was googling about the AI procedure. How it is done, the do's and dont's, the success rates etc

Then it was the dreaded 2ww! Googling and over analyzing every twinge, ache, and pain, hoping that they were all signs of a BFP!!

But most importantly for me, it brought me to my online friends. First the friends I had made on the first forum that I was part of, and then OPM. So many members there are thanking me for creating the forum, but the truth is, I created it a little bit for selfish reasons - I needed support and friendship through this journey. To talk to people who have been in or are going through the same situation as I am. To share things with people who will not critize me or my decision. And just to talk to! I am so glad that so many ladies have found the support and friendship that they were looking for.

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine I would have found all these amazing ladies on OPM. I have met some of them, and they are truly remarkable women! And I know that the ones I havent yet met are also like them! We all have this wonderful bond with each other!

At our first OPM get together I was so nervous meeting the ladies. But once we were all there, it felt like we had known each other for years and years!

And all this because I went to Google!!! Thank you google for taking me to where I am today!! And thank you ladies for making all of this possible!

I Need Honest Opinions Please

Most of you know that I have been told that I need to do IVF in order to conceive. My eggs are crap and are running out.

My last tests (2 months ago) werent that great:

AMH 0.9
FSH. 12.7

I have been reading on the internet that chances are minimal. So really, am I wasting my time and money?

Realistically what are my chances?

As The Saying Goes....

If you look like your I.D. photo, you're too ill too travel!!!

And I have just proven that!

Today I went to the traffic department to renew my drivers licence. I was expecting to be there for hours, but the whole thing took less than 20min! Actually the longest part was waiting in line to pay!

Anyhoo, I had to hand in 3 I.D. photo's, which I didnt have. So they sent me to the little blue combi outside to get some piccies taken. Well, let me just say that if Frankenstein still wants a bride, he can have me!!

I look shocking! I look like a dirty druggie who has just been electrocuted whilst having dental work done! And now I am stuck with this photo for the next 5 years! Bloody Marvelous!

I was going to post the picture here, but then decided against it, as I still want you to remain my friends. So, to save our friendships, the picture will not be displayed!

10 of my strangest characteristics

Here goes:

1. Have to brush my teeth before going to bed and first thing when I wake up! No morning kiss until both parties have brushed their teeth! (Talk about killing the moment!!!)

2. I am addicted to Labello lip ice. Dont go anywhere without it

3. When reading a book, I have to finish a chapter before putting the book down.

4. I have to wear matching underwear.

5. I have broken 7 seven bones in my life time

6. I havent had any childhood diseases, except for chicken pox, and I was 18 when I got that.

7. I have to tie my hair up in a ponytail when going to sleep.

8. I am always cold. When everyone else is experiencing a heat wave, I am comfortably warm!

9. I will always end up chewing the back of a pen or pencil!

10. I have to have the radio playing when I drive. Cannot drive in silence!
